I finally confirmed and updated my race schedule for 2013! :D I might add on a few additional virtual races, but I'm done with my in person race schedule (pending the registration of a few races). I'm doing a couple of 13 in 2013 "challenges" so I have to run a minimum of 13 races this year.
I know it looks like a lot, but quite a few of the dates of my virtual races overlap with dates that I'm running in person races or when I will be doing training runs of the same distance. I'm super excited for the bling I'll accumulate over the year.
Are you running any of the same races this year? Do you want to run with me this year? I'd love running some company!

Race Recap: Mermaid Series 5K & Get Out and Go!
On Saturday I ran the Mermaid Series 5K, San Diego and I had a blast! It was my first Mermaid Series race and first official (non-virtual) race of my 13 races in 2013. The race course was in Mission Bay and we ran along the gorgeous coast of Fiesta Island. It was so nice to see a large number of women out running together and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
I represented my Sweat Pink Sisters with my running attire (my new Sweat Pink tank and Nike LunarGlide running shoes) and I was even Sparkling by sporting my favorite sparkly headband from Sparkly Soul.
I was so motivated to run this race and set a PR.... And I did! I ran it in 37:50 (12:12 pace) which is my fastest 5K race, to date! I'm so excited that this was the way I started my 2013 race schedule!
Today's Monday Motivation is just to get out and go! It doesn't matter how slow you are... You're faster than everyone sitting on the couch! I used to be embarrassed about how slow my pace was, but now I'm just so happy that I have the motivation to start the race. :D

Did you run a race this weekend? Did you just get up and go? Maybe you're still training for your first race?! Leave me some love and let me know... I'd love to hear about it!

I'm running the Inaugural NWM Half DC!
I still can't believe it!!
Last night I was looking through pictures on instragm, as usual, and I saw that one of my friends posted that she received her email saying she wasn't accepted into the NWM Half DC (for those that don't know, to run the race you have to apply because it's a lottery system). I applied the first day that the registration opened and then just kinda "forgot" about the race lottery. I figured, if I got in GREAT, if not I know of another great all women's half marathon (Iron Girl Half Marathon) the same day that didn't have a lottery that I could register to run.
So, off to my email I went to check and see if I got an email from Nike. To my surprise my second email subject line read: Confirmation XXXXXXX - NWM Half DC Random Draw Results! I didn't even have to open the email to know that I was accepted! I was so happy to open the email and see the following image.

So, did anyone else get in? Do I know anyone else running? I'd love to have some people to train with (run behind). I usually run my half marathons with my husband, so this will be a new experience for me, one that I will of course be blogging all about!
Thanks, Nike! I can't wait to get that pretty Tiffany necklace when I cross the finish line!

Run the Dirty Girl Mud Run with Me!
I'm going to run the Dirty Girl Mud Run: Baltimore MD on August 10, 2013 with some of my girlfriends, we we would love for some lovely local ladies to join us!
Overview
Dirty Girl is a 5k mud run for women of all ages and athletic abilities. Don't worry - it's not a "race" in the traditional sense. It is an untimed obstacle course designed to push you slightly out of your comfort zone, but only as far as you are comfortable going. Forming teams is encouraged, and so is helping your fellow Dirty Girls get through to the finish. At a Dirty Girl Mud Run you'll find excitement, laughter, and camaraderie—as well as lots of music and even some adult beverages. It's a day you'll never forget.
Course Description
Run, walk, climb, crawl—you will experience it all. With obstacle names like H2OMG and PMS (Pretty Muddy Stuff), you can expect to laugh until your cheeks hurt. But don't worry, if you get to an obstacle that's more than a challenge for you—hey, take one of the detours. Also expect safety throughout. Expect the event to go on rain or shine. Expect not to be timed.
Sign up now and you can get 20% off your race registration!!

Join My Color Run Team!!
I'm running The Color Run™ Washington D.C. on May 19th, 2013 and would love for you to join my team!
What is the Color Run?
The Color Run™ 5k is a unique experience focused less on speed and more on crazy color fun with friends and family. Color runners come from all different ages, shapes, sizes, and speeds; but everyone toeing the start line has a blast. Whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of The Color Run™ course will be the most memorable and colorful run of your life!
How does it work?
The Color Run™ event pretty much has TWO SIMPLE rules: 1) White shirts (any mostly white T will work great) mandatory at the start line. And 2) color plastered EVERYTHING at the finish! Runner/walkers begin the 5k at the start line like a brand new pristine coloring book. By the end, they look like they fell into a Willy Wonka… tie dyed… vat of colored goodness.
What is the Color?
Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color: yellow, orange, pink, or blue. As the runners/walkers reach the Kilometer COLOR Zones, they are blitzed by our volunteers, sponsors, and staff with COLOR. All products are 100% natural and safe.
